MELROSE — The City of Melrose Veterans Services Department and Veterans Advisory Board invite local veterans and members of the community to attend the city’s annual Veterans’ Day observances.
On Saturday, November 8, they will host a Community Food Drive at Shaw’s Supermarket at 34 Essex Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All donations will benefit local food pantries.
On Monday, November 10, veterans and their family members are invited to enjoy the annual Veterans Breakfast at Melrose Memorial Middle School at 8:30 a.m. The breakfast is followed by the school’s annual Veterans’ Day student assembly. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by calling 781-462-3103 no later than Wednesday, November 5.
On Tuesday, November 11 — Veterans’ Day — veterans and their families are honored during the annual ceremony. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Knoll, Vietnam Reflection Area (across from the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School, 360 Lynn Fells Parkway). Please join Melrose veterans to honor and remember all who have served.

The Melrose Veterans Services Department hosts a Food Pantry for veterans on the third Wednesday of each month at Memorial Hall, 590 Main Street. The pantry operates as a “food mart,” allowing participants to select the items they desire. For parking, use the designated parking area behind Memorial Hall and enter through the main doors, adjacent to the Fire Station.
