WAKEFIELD — Marie-Louise Miksis, 99, of Wakefield formerly of Arlington passed away peacefully on October 29. Born on October 20, 1926, Marie lived a long and full life dedicated to her family and to helping others.

Marie began her career as a Registered Nurse, graduating from Faulkner Hospital School of Nursing where she was known for her kindness, compassion and gentle care for patients. Her commitment to nursing reflected her generous spirit and lifelong dedication to others.

In 1950, Marie married the love of her life John Miksis and together they built a beautiful life centered around family. They shared many wonderful years until John’s passing in October 1990.

Marie loved spending time with her family, especially during trips to their cottage on Cape Cod where she enjoyed relaxation on the beaches and the company of those she loved most. Her warmth, grace, curiosity and compassion will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband John. She is survived by her son Jim and his wife Joanne and Joseph and his wife Susan; and her cherished grandchildren: Jonathan, David, Melanie and Andrew who she expressed brightened her life following John’s passing and brought her great joy and pride.

Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Arlington on Tuesday, November 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 5 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, Medford St., Arlington. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
