An avid reader who loved New England sports
MELROSE — It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Edward Scully. Originally from Melrose. Ed passed away after a brief illness on October 12 in Auburn, CA.
He attended Melrose High, Class of 1975. After retiring Ed moved to Auburn, CA and lived there for the last seven years. Ever the devoted New England sport fan he loved watching hockey, baseball and football in the stadium or on the big screen TV. Ed was an avid reader and enjoyed a good thriller, US history and of course sport heroes.
Ed was predeceased by his parents Dan and Ruth Scully and survived by sisters Diane (Kevin) McDonald, Joanne (Scot) Montgomery, Nancy Scully; and beloved uncle to niece Sarah (Tanner) Montgomery and nephew Cameron Montgomery.
A celebration of his life is planned for the summer of 2026.
