LYNNFIELD — The town is holding its first annual the “Lynnfield Gives Back” food drive, organized in partnership with Lynnfield for Love and Lynnfield Rotary.
This initiative aims to support neighbors in need during the upcoming holiday season. The food drive will conclude on Dec. 17. All collected donations will be delivered to Good Hope, Inc., which is located at Calvary Church in Lynnfield.
“Good Hope, Inc. has been a vital resource in our community since 2016, providing sustenance for over 400 families and individuals each month,” said Town Administrator Rob Dolan. “With the growing challenge of food insecurity in our region, your generosity is more important than ever.”
Residents can contribute by placing their donations in the clearly labeled plastic bins located at the following sites: Lynnfield Fire Headquarters, Lynnfield Town Hall (temporary location at 590 Main St.), Lynnfield Senior Center, Temporary Town Hall offices in Room 4 at the Senior Center, Summer Street School, Huckleberry Hill School, Lynnfield Middle School, Lynnfield High School and the Lynnfield Public Library.
Dolan said the town is “specifically seeking” non-perishable food items, including tuna cans, chicken cans, rice, dry beans, canned vegetables and fruit, pasta, tomato sauce, juice, oatmeal, peanut butter, cereal, and mac and cheese.
“Our Department of Public Works will collect the bins weekly each Thursday and deliver them directly to Good Hope Foods for immediate distribution,” said Dolan.
