LYNNFIELD — The 59th Lynnfield High School commencement ceremony for the Class of 2018 will be held on Friday, June 1, beginning at 6 p.m.

Last year’s ceremony was forced indoors due to the threat of pop up thunderstorms, which marked the first time graduation was held inside since the LHS fields complex was completed in 2014. The Class of 2018 is hoping for clear blue skies as students celebrate concluding their high school careers.

In the event of inclement weather, graduation will be held in the high school gym once again.

The High School Concert Band, under the direction of LHS Band Director Tom Westmoreland, will perform traditional music. The Chamber Singers will perform the “National Anthem” under the direction of LHS Choral Director Doug Hodgkins.

Student Council President Mia Ford will be giving the Welcome Address, and High School Assistant Principal Brian Bates will give opening remarks. Analeigha Colarusso will give the Valedictory Address. Senior Class President Alexandra Ross and Superintendent Jane Tremblay will also speak.

The senior class gift will be presented by Ross to Class of 2019 President Emily Dickey.

The LHS Concert Band, Senior Chorus and Chamber Singers will perform a cover of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now.”

After the musical performance concludes, School Committee Chairman Jamie Hayman will present the graduates their diplomas.

Bates will provide closing remarks at the end of the ceremony.
