OVER A DOZEN HOMES IN the Montrose area were without water late last night and today after a portion of an eight inch water main cracked near the intersection of Mackenzie and Heather lanes around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Water was shut down around 11:45 p.m.; the damaged section of pipe was excavated around 5 a.m. today and repaired with a new section. A DPW official expected water back on in the area this morning.
