ATKINSON, N.H. — Richard J. Casey (Chick), 83, of Atkinson N.H., formerly of Melrose Mass., passed away on January 31, 2020 with his loving family at his side following a lengthy illness.
He is the husband of Mary-Ann (Rossano) Casey with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Richard was born May 17, 1936 in Peabody; he is the son of the late David and Alice (Goodelski) Casey. He was a graduate of Melrose High School Class of 1955. Richard was the owner of Precision Cleaning Company Inc. and a founding member of the Logan Airport Association, “a helping hand for the airport community.”
Richard treasured the time he spent with his family. He also enjoyed golfing, boating, horse racing, coffee, and spending time at Big Island Pond in Atkinson, N.H. In addition to his loving wife Mary-Ann, Richard is survived by his daughter Carol-Ann (Casey) O’Neill and her husband Michael of Newburyport, his son Richard J. Casey, Jr. and wife Karen of Derry, N.H. Loving brother of David Casey of Chula Vista, Calif. and sister Barbara Casey of Lynnfield. Richard was the proud grandfather to Erin, Megan, Christopher, Shannon, Daniel and his seven great-grandchildren. Caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home 79. W. Foster St. Melrose on Wednesday, February 5. His funeral service was in the Gately Funeral Home on Thursday morning, February 6.
