SALEM, New Hampshire — Doris M. (MacEachern) Roche, 90, passed away at the Residence at Salem Woods, in Salem, N.H. on Wednesday morning April 15, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Roche.
Doris was born in Malden, Mass. and was the daughter of the late Francis and Catherine MacEachern.
Doris was a longtime resident of Woburn, Mass. where she and her husband raised three children. She worked at New England Telephone Company as a telephone operator, and later at Verizon in an administrative role, until retirement.
In retirement Doris enjoyed travelling and spending time with her children and grandchildren before moving to Largo, Florida where she was able to enjoy the warm weather, friends and the beach.
Doris was an avid bridge player, enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, taking long walks and swimming. Later she returned to New England, where she took up residence at the Residence at Salem Woods, where she enjoyed staying active and participating in daily activities with her neighbors and staff in the community.
As a devout Catholic, Doris practiced her strong faith throughout her life, and extended her kind and loving ways to friends and family alike.
She was the loving mother of the late Christine Cleary, Robert Roche Jr. and his wife Mary of Hampton, N.H., Allan Roche and his wife Hellen of Wakefield Mass., nine loving grandchildren, Kimberly Cleary, Robert Roche III, Laura (Roche) Cresta, Stephen Roche, Brian Roche, Kevin Roche, Lauren Roche, Erin Roche, and Patrick Roche; her three great grandchildren, Anthony, Josephine and Christian. Doris is survived by her sister Patricia Fallon of N.H., and her brothers the late Donald MacEachern, Francis MacEachern, and sister Gertrude DeMaggio.
With sincere appreciation we would like to express our thanks for the loving care that was given to Doris by all of the staff and caregivers at The Residence at Salem Woods and Brookhaven Hospice.
