NORTH READING — North Reading High School recently announced their Senior Sports Awards for the Class of 2020.
The Hornets honored 25 student athletes who received at least seven varsity letters throughout their NRHS careers.
Athletic Director David Johnson also announced four special award winners: A male and female Lester Levey Scholar-Athlete Award winner and a male and female Nickolas Martinho Best All-Around Athlete Award winner.
The female recipient of the Lester Levey Scholar-Athlete Award is Lindsay MacLellan. MacLellan earned 12 varsity letters throughout her career in cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field.
MacLellan graduates with six school records and is in the top 10 for three other events, all events she could have tackled during the cancelled spring season. In cross country, she holds the home course record, was a two-time CAL MVP, two-time state championship runner-up and competed at three All-state championships. MacLellan won the outdoor state championship in the two mile her junior year.
MacLellan will attend Lehigh University in the fall where she will compete on the cross country and track and field teams.

The male recipient of the Lester Levey Scholar-Athlete Award is Jack Keller. Keller earned eight varsity letters throughout his career. The three-sport student athlete was a key member of the football, boys’ basketball and baseball teams. Keller was a talented wide receiver/running back for the Hornets. The two-time 1st team CAL All-Star had many noteworthy highlights, perhaps none better than a game-winning catch over a Masco defensive back this season for a 21-14 victory. Keller was a forward for the basketball team and pitcher, infielder and middle of the order hitter for the baseball team.
Keller will attend UMass Amherst in the fall.

The female recipient of the Nickolas Martinho Best All-Around Athlete Award is Alexandria Grasso. Grasso earned 12 varsity letter throughout her career, competing in cross country, girls’ basketball and outdoor track and field. Grasso was a consistent top five cross country runner and was a standout on the basketball team. A talented offensive and defensive guard, captain Grasso helped lead the Hornets to a Div. 2 North championship this winter.
Grasso graduates with six school records and four individual school records in track and field. For three straight years, freshman, sophomore and junior year, Grasso scored in all three events she contested at the outdoor state championship. She was a two-time pentathlon state champion and a state champ in the triple jump last season. Grasso competed at the national championship twice as a freshman and again her junior year.
Grasso will be attending UMass Lowell where she will compete for the track and field team.
The male recipient of the Nickolas Martinho Best All-Around Athlete Award is Billy Lord. Lord earned nine varsity letters throughout his career. Lord has a combined nine school records in indoor and outdoor track and field and was a two-time CAL indoor MVP, a two-year CAL indoor championship meet MVP and a two-year CAL outdoor MVP. Lord was a Divisional, All-State and New England Champion in the 55 meter hurdles this winter.
Lord will be attending the University of Rhode Island where he will compete for the track and field team.
