NORTH READING — It’s that time of year again when supporters of North Reading Baseball gather for the annual Diamond Club Golf Tournament.
This year’s event — the 6th annual — takes place Friday, August 20 at the Hillview Golf Course with a 7 a.m. registration and 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Proceeds will help the North Reading Diamond Club continue its support of our hometown baseball programs. For more than a decade, the Diamond Club has invested thousands of dollars and countless hours to improve Carey Park at NRHS, fund scholarships, and advance North Reading baseball across multiple levels, while building on the great tradition established by former coach Frank Carey and current coach Eric Archambault.
As part of the festivities, the Diamond Club will honor former North Reading Public Schools Superintendent Jon Bernard. Bernard will be hosted by alumni, family and friends after the tournament with food and refreshments offered by the Horseshoe Grille.
Tickets for the golf event and celebration are $175 (includes lunch) or a lunch-only option for $30 can be purchased online at www.birdeasepro.com/NRDCGolf.
Golfers receive a “swag bag” filled with prizes and giveaways. Local businesses and individual supporters may sponsor a hole for $100 with additional sponsorship opportunities available on the website.
All of the fundraising efforts support North Reading Baseball including a $500 scholarship to be awarded to a NRHS senior from the varsity baseball program.
