Gerard L. Malone Sr., 77

A quiet and quick witted man
MELROSE Gerard L. Malone Sr. passed away at his home in Melrose on September 30, 2021. He was 77 years of age. Mr. Malone was born and raised in Charlestown and graduated from Boston College. After high school, he served his country with pride in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Gerald lived in Charlestown for many years, Brockton from 1968-1981 and Melrose since 1981.

Mr. Malone worked as a truck driver for the H.P. Hood Milk Company in Charlestown for over 28 years. He loved classic cars and cars in general, especially if they were black. He was a man of few words but had a very quick wit. But above all he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gerard was the beloved father of Stacey A. Pollack and her husband, Ted, of Melrose; Gerard L. Malone Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Hampstead, NH and Alison L. Malone of Derry, NH. Loving grandfather of Stephanie McPhee, Skylar Malone, Emma Malone, Jenna Malone and Jayson Pollack. Proud great grandfather of Annabelle, Mia and Leo. Caring brother of Joseph Malone, Kathleen O’Sullivan and the late Bernard and William Malone. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 9-11 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Followed by interment with Military Honors at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. To leave an online message of condolence please visit gatelyfh.com.
