Susan M. Murphy, 70

A creative and skilled crafter who loved all animals

MALDEN — Susan M. Murphy, 70, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 after a brief illness. Born November 5, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Quentin and Marie (McCarron) Murphy. Loving sister of Nancy Murphy of Melrose, Robert Murphy and his wife, Marian, of Millisle, Northern Ireland and Bruce Murphy and his fiancée, Christine Waddell, of Tewksbury. Also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, a great-nephew, many caring friends and neighbors, as well as her beloved dogs and birds.

Susan graduated from Malden High School in 1969 and was a lifelong Malden resident. A teacher at heart, she graduated from Boston State College in 1973. She was employed by Spaulding Rehabilitation Center and then Partners HealthCare for over 40 years. She loved all animals. She was a creative and skilled crafter – sewing, knitting, crocheting, stamping; she could do it all beautifully. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and kindness to all as well as for her unbelievable memory.

A memorial service to celebrate Susan’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
