NORTH READING — In an effort to offer additional insight into the protocols and programs in place across the school district that are intended to provide safe and secure schools, the North Reading Public Schools, the North Reading Police Department, and the North Reading Fire Department are hosting a “School Safety Summit” on Wednesday, February 16 at 7 p.m. to be held virtually.
Similar to past School Safety Summits held in November of 2019 and May of 2018, both school and public safety personnel will make presentation to update those in virtual attendance on some of the programs that are in place to provide safe and secure learning environments in all of the schools in the North Reading Public Schools district and to provide other relevant information.
“While it is planned that there will be a fairly detailed presentation made, please understand that some of the efforts at strengthening the safety and security of our schools are not able to be referenced or discussed publicly as doing so would compromise their integrity and efficacy,” stated Superintendent of Schools Dr. Patrick Daly.
“School safety – and the safety and security of all who work and learn in our schools – is of the highest priority and continues to receive significant attention,” Daly added. “It is essential that we create the safest educational environments if our students are going to learn at the highest levels and if our educators and staff are going to do their very best work.”
