Turkey Trot Elementary School Challenge results

For the eighth year in a row they have won the Elementary School Challenge with 30% of the student body participating in the North Reading Turkey Trot to earn $300 for fitness equipment for their P.E. classes. NORTH READING — The results of the 2021 North Reading Turkey Trot Elementary School Challenge are in! The E. Ethel Little School finished with the highest percent participation of race-day participants, taking the top spot for the eighth year in a row! With 88 students participating on race day, the percentage of the student body taking part was over 30%.

The L.D. Batchelder School Bulldogs and the J. Turner Hood School Hound dogs finished at 14% and 13%, respectively. The Batchelder had 56 students running on Thanksgiving morning and the Hood had 36 students on the course.

As the winning school, the Little School earned $300 for its Physical Education Department to spend on new fitness equipment. The other two schools each earned $200 to put toward fitness equipment of their choice.
