MELROSE — Several groups and businesses are joining forces to bring us a great weekend celebrating the city’s 175th birthday.
Here is a schedule of events, compiled by the Melrose Creative Alliance:
SATURDAY, MAY 3
10 a.m. to 12 noon
Memorial Hall
City of Melrose Birthday Party: Cake, festivities, Historical Commission exhibit, Follow Your Art Participatory Art Project
11:30 a.m. Memorial Hall Front Steps
Swans and Cygnet Community Photo.
11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Follow Your Art
Rock Out Photo Op at Follow Your Art Community Studio on Main Street. Join Oren Santillo on the porch of The Big Yellow House to play with him and take a band photo.
12 noon to 2 p.m. Memorial Hall to Ell Pond
Join organizers for face painting and family fun at the Ell Pond gazebo, decorated by Cal M. Finocchiaro and sponsored by Nowak Family Dental. Pose for professional family portraits by ED Photography (12:15–1:30) for purchase for $10, just in time for Mother’s Day!
1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Beebe Estate’s
Victorian Garden Party
– Hannah Alice Costumes: Display of Victorian Attire and custom orders (all ages) – Sofia Diana: Watercolor Art, Cards and 10 percent off Home Portraits
– Library Storytime at 3 p.m.
