Candidate Statements for Republican State Committee Woman

Cynthia Bjorlie, candidate for Republican State Committeewoman, First Essex & Middlesex District

CYNTHIA BJORLIE

 Dear voter,

My name is Cynthia Bjorlie, and I am running for a seat on the Mass. Republican State Committee on the March 5, 2024 ballot. This is my first run for political office. I am a semi-retired primary care doctor, and in 2001, I started a company called Adult Foster Care of the North Shore.

Adult Foster Care of the North Shore has grown to a staff of 30 who serve 360 clients with significant disabilities living in private homes in greater Essex County. Every single one of those clients saves tax dollars by living in a home instead of in an institution such as a nursing home.

I was motivated to run for this unpaid office because of the government handling of Covid that was, to me, is an intolerable example of government overreach. It is time to do something. Everywhere there are examples of government encroachment. We are over-regulated, over-taxed, over-vaccinated, and over-monitored.

For the past year in Republican meetings across the state, I have seen crowds of people who are also motivated to do something about the government’s dictating how we run our lives and care for ourselves. If you are motivated by such an issue, I would like to hear about it. Chances are we are not going to agree on all issues or how to handle them. I believe that we can find common ground and things to fix, to redirect, or to create. We need to navigate our differences and strategize. We can effect change, large and small.

If we want actual results, we need to start working on things now. We need to find electable Republican candidates and support and encourage them. If the Republican Party can bring back integrity, cohesiveness, and positive energy, the support will follow and grow. There is a need to revitalize the Republican Party.

I ask for your vote on March 5 because I am ready to work for you and with you to restore out rights as citizens.

Thank you,

Cynthia C. Bjorlie, MD

Ashley Sullivan, candidate for Republican State Committeewoman, First Essex & Middlesex District

ASHLEY SULLIVAN

Hello, my name is Ashley Sullivan. I am writing to you all today not only as a candidate for Republican State Committee – but also as a former candidate for State Representative, the chairwoman of our local RCC, a small business owner, a wife and mother, and finally, a Conservative Republican!

The MAGOP is at a serious crossroads. We’re on a downward spiral, and it’s only getting worse as frustrated Republicans flee for Red State’s freedom-oriented policies, or some of them choosing to leave the party out of frustration! I can’t blame them! This past election cycle was historic! We were finally given a chance to create change, yet Republicans couldn’t deliver! We had a State Committee that was non-existent, meeting all of one time the entire election cycle – refusing to do their jobs because they couldn’t get past the infighting and spite, and our candidates, including myself – paid dearly!

We must do better! We have no choice but to do better! Which is why I’m running, alongside my running mate Jeffrey Yull. It is my hope that our shared experiences campaigning and serving as chairwoman/man of our local RTC/RCC’s – enables us to pick up the pieces and be a part of the solution.

As a candidate I am attending all 19 towns and cities RTC’s/RCC’s meetings and events to take in what they have to say. So far, all the committees I have met with have made it perfectly clear – they’ve had it with the infighting! They want to be seen and represented; they want us to do what we’re elected to do… support the grassroots, which is what I’m focusing my campaign on! RTC’s/RCC’s need help with campaigning, fundraising, and they need help with organizing/reorganization.

If elected, I will advocate for campaign/candidate training for RTC’s/RCC’s not only across the district, but also the state. Having been to training sessions by Renew MA, I believe we should take a page out of their book. I’ve also been told RCC’s/RTC’s need help with technology. They see and hear of things like WinRed, the GOP Database, social media, mass texting or online advertising – and do not know where to start. We open so many doors if only we educate them!

I’d also like to set up some sort of network for regional fundraising. So that when it’s imperative our committees raise funds – we are ready and able to assist them and spread the word to Republican donors. We’ve decided to do something similar with CapeAnnGOP.

And finally, as I said before, I am always here to listen. Any ideas, questions, or concerns will always be taken into consideration. Whether it’s reorganization, ballot initiatives, fundraising, or campaigning – State Committee members should always be ready, willing, and able to help the RTC’s/RCC’s in their district. It’s time to build the party we want and deserve, and I believe we are the team to do that! Let’s take back our party and defeat the democrats! Vote Sullivan and Yull on March 5!
