Remembering a man committed to veterans

ON FRIDAY, SEPT. 19, the corner of Albion and Franklin streets was dedicated to the memory of World War II veteran Minor McLain. McLain, a history professor, was also a prisoner of war in Europe. An infantryman in the U.S. Army, he was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry and the Purple Heart. Friends and family attended the dedication ceremony, which took place not far from the Sgt. Harold O. Young VFW Post where McLain was a longtime member and official historian.
