UPDATE: Boys’ basketball falls to Salem after upsetting Springfield Science and Tech in preliminary round

JUNIOR CAPTAIN Jason Berry, recently named to the CAL All League team, led No. 39 NR into a D3 preliminary round matchup at No. 26 Springfield High School of Science and Technology on Wednesday night after press time. The winner will travel to No. 7 Salem High for a first round game on Friday night

THE PLNR co-op girls’ hockey team defeated Bishop Fenwick 2-0 on Monday night in the annual Carlin Cup game. North Reading goalie Alyse Mutti earned MVP honors with 19 saves. The No. 12 Tanners finished the regular season at 15-3-2. They host No. 21 Waltham (13-5-2) in a Div. 1 first round matchup on Wednesday
