Public Works budget approved

WAKEFIELD – The Town Council has approved the $7,555,600 tax levy supported portion of the FY2027 Department of Public Works budget. The board also gave its blessing last week to the self-supporting Water and Sewer Division budgets. The budgets will go before the voters at the Annual Town Meeting in May.

Girls’ lacrosse team kicks off promising new season tomorrow

WAKEFIELD — The Wakefield High girls’ lacrosse team will begin their 2026 regular season tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. with a trip to Manchester-by-the-Sea to take on Manchester-Essex.

$2M capital budget headed for Town Meeting

WAKEFIELD — The Town Council this week approved nearly $2 million in capital spending from the tax levy for FY2027, along with $755,600 in combined requests from the self-funded Water and Sewer enterprise divisions.
