DURING A RECENT WEEKEND, the WMHS Marching Band conducted their annual food drive to benefit the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry. With their competitive spirit in mind, each section competed against each other to see who could donate the most. The results were impressive. The band collected 3,544 food items, averaging 39 items per student. The top section was the Trumpet and Trombone sections who collected 1,390 items. This year’s food drive resulted in 553 more items than last year. These students should be commended for their generosity and community service. The true winner is the Wakefield community.
