Family was her greatest joy
HAMPTON, NH — Clare Mary (Walsh) Fauvel, 76, of Hampton, NH, passed away on Tuesday, September 23. Clare was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Born on May 28, 1949 in Stoneham, Clare was the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Cummiskey) Walsh. She grew up in Wakefield alongside her cherished twin sister Sister Clare (Cathleen) Walsh MHSH and her younger brother Jim Walsh. A proud 1967 graduate of Wakefield High School, Clare continued her studies at Malden Business School before embarking on a job at the IRS in Andover where fate would introduce her to the love of her life David Fauvel.
Clare and David married in 1978, building a beautiful life together centered on faith, family and tradition. They raised their three daughters: Laura, Julie and Katie in Wakefield where they were active members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. In 2024, Clare and David moved to Hampton, NH where they began a new chapter together.
Clare’s greatest joy was her family. She delighted in playing spirited games of Chicago Rummy, relaxing on Cape Cod vacations and creating lasting memories during family gatherings and holiday traditions. She was also an avid reader, crossword puzzle enthusiast and lover of Hallmark movies.
She is survived by her beloved husband David; her siblings Sister Clare (Cathleen) Walsh MHSH and Jim Walsh; her daughters Laura, Julie and Katie; her sons-in-law Mark and Gary; and her five grandchildren Joshua, Olivia, Andrew, Charlie and Jackson who lovingly knew her as “Nana.”
