Colette Maguire, 92

Will be missed by all who knew her

MELROSE — Colette S. (Supple) Maguire, of Melrose died peacefully at home surrounded by her eight children on April 8 at the age of 92. 

She was born in Boston on October 1, 1932 to the late Mildred (Broussard) and Henry Supple. Colette was raised in Winthrop and graduated from Mt. St. Joseph Academy in Brighton. A longtime member of Incarnation Church, she was dedicated to her faith and church. Colette worked for many years as a bank teller and for Macy’s, retiring at the age of 80. She was a proud recipient of the Cheverus Medal given to her by the Bishop of the Boston Archdiocese. Family was most important to Colette; she cherished her time with all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially at family parties. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Colette was the beloved wife of the late George W. Maguire. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Georgia Krasco and her husband Jim; Matthew Maguire and his wife Marianne; Mark Maguire and his wife June; Luke Maguire and his wife Brenda; John Maguire and his wife Andrea; Andrea Colette Maguire; Peter Maguire and his wife Andrea Beth; and Paula Flynn and her husband Michael. Devoted grandmother of Jimmy; Stephanie and her husband Steve; Desi and former spouse Tricia; Brian; Patrick and his husband Scott; and Erin, Liam, Dillon, Mick, Sara, Jenna, Molly, Jessica; Andrew and his wife Jenny; Zachary, Ally, Lily, Brendan and Frankie. Proud great-grandmother of Jake, Sydney, Briana, Brayden, Marlee, Jameson and Rowan. Sister of the late Dr. Jerome Supple.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. A funeral Mass will be held at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St., Melrose on Saturday, April 12 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow the mass at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
