Artist and music lover
WILMINGTON — Donna Ruth (Page) Buote, 64, of Wilmington passed away peacefully with her husband by her side in her home on the morning of May 17. Born on September 18, 1960 in Lynn, Donna spent her upbringing in Melrose, graduating from Melrose High School in 1979.
Donna was an incredibly hard-working woman, studying sciences at Middlesex Community College and later becoming a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Donna was a passionate artist and lover of music, most recently pursuing watercolor classes through the Wilmington Art Center. She was inspired by the beauty of the natural world, often painting landscape scenes and florals. Donna shared this love of art through her years of teaching and volunteering at Abundant Life Christian School in Wilmington.
Donna was a woman of deep Christian faith, spending many years at Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Melrose and Saugus. During her years of illness, she consistently trusted in the Lord and looked to Him for her strength.
Donna enjoyed spending weekends down the cape visiting her children and grandchildren; going to art museums around Boston; relaxing with her family and parents at their condo in Bonita Springs, FL; going for long drives with her husband Charlie; whipping up various Armenian recipes for family and friends; and watching her grandchildren perform in countless plays and musicals.
Donna was not only a loving mother to her four children, but “Mimi” to many others. She was the kind of woman whose doors were always open, had an extra seat at the table for any of her kids’ friends and was a listening ear for anyone who needed it. Above all else, Donna was the most warmhearted and caring person that many of us have ever known.
Donna will be missed by her husband of nearly 32 years Charles Buote; her four children Jason Nee and wife Jessica Nee; Mark Nee and wife Kitty Nee; Christopher Buote and wife Jessica Buote; and Danielle Buote; her parents Gerald and Ruth Page; her siblings Diane Hardy and husband Justin St. James; Denise Mulcay and husband Michael Mulcay; Christine Novick; and Gary Page and wife Jeannie Page; her grandchildren Alex Nee, Krista Nee, Justin Nee and Magnolia Nee; her many nieces and nephews; and her dearest friend Maryann MacNeil. Donna is predeceased by her brothers-in-laws Paul Hardy and James Novick.
