MELROSE — Follow Your Art Community Studios (FYACS) is excited to announce that the fifth annual Chalk Walk will take place on Saturday, September 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a rain date on Sunday, September 28. This annual community event benefits the Arts for All program at Follow Your Art which makes creative experiences accessible to everyone through tuition assistance, adaptive support and free community events.
Professional and rising artists will create intricate chalk masterpieces on the walkways outside Melrose City Hall and along Ell Pond while individuals, families and community groups are invited to contribute to a vibrant community gallery near the Ell Pond gazebo on Main St. Chalk drawings will be created at both sites between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., but can be enjoyed all day and throughout the weekend, weather permitting.

“Chalk Walk has become something of a fall tradition in Melrose. Hundreds of individuals and families come out to create, view and appreciate community art, all while supporting Arts for All,” says Follow Your Art Executive Director Kris Rodolico.
Community members can create their own chalk squares in the community gallery for a suggested Arts for All donation of $30 and all supplies will be provided by FYACS. There is also an option for community members to “pay it forward” in the spirit of Arts for All to allow others to take part.
