LYNNFIELD — Just like last season, the Lynnfield High softball team had one player named to the Cape Ann League First-Team All-Stars and one player named to the CAL Second-Team All-Stars.

Morgan Hubbard made the First Team for the second year in a row. It is her third year as an All-Star as the senior made the Second Team as a sophomore

The shortstop led the team in batting average at .462 and she also led the Pioneers in home runs with four. Hubbard was second on the team in runs batted in with 23.

“If our record was better, I would have nominated her for league MVP,” stated Pioneers head coach Hector Longo. “She is the best non-pitcher in the league and had our biggest hit of the season with the game-winning home run against Oxford in the tournament.”

Hubbard ended her high school career with 106 total hits and her career average was .455. She is going to college at Tufts this fall.

KAILA GEORGE

Kaila George was the team’s Second-Team All-Star. It is the first time on the team for the senior center fielder who is going to Wake Forest this September.

“She was rock solid in center field,” said Longo. “She was a great captain and led by example.”

George, a four-year varsity player, hit .284 with 13 runs batted in. She scored 22 times.

George was a three-sport athlete who ran cross county in the fall and did indoor track in the winter.

It was a successful season for the Pioneers who, after beating Oxford, lost to East Bridgewater, 3-0, in the MIAA Division 4 Round of 16 on June 3.

Lynnfield finished the 2025 campaign at 11-11 overall. In the CAL, they went 9-7 as they ended up in fourth place in the Kinney Division.
