NORTH READING — North Reading High School senior Jonathan Park was recently named a finalist in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship program.
In the fall of 2022, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of approximately 16,000 semi-finalists in the 67th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors earned an opportunity to be one of 7,250 National Merit Scholarship winners. Jonathan Park’s designation as a finalist puts him inside the top 99th percentile of all eligible students who entered the competition by taking the PSAT.
To be considered for a National Merit Scholarship award, all semi-finalists needed to fulfill several requirements to advance to the finals level of the competition and Park has done so. “The North Reading High School faculty and administration congratulate Jonathan on his stellar academic performance and recognition in this renowned scholarship program,” commented Principal Anthony Loprete.
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) is a non-profit organization that operates without government assistance and was established in 1955 specifically to conduct the annual National Merit Scholarship program.
