Enjoyed spending times with loved ones and creating memories
MELROSE — Kathleen Marie Gomes, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend peacefully passed away on June 5 at the age of 82 in Melrose.
Born on April 6, 1943 in Somerville to parents John and Mary Collins. Kathleen grew up surrounded by love and community. She attended local schools and lived a life filled with kindness, warmth and dedication to her family and friends.
Kathleen was dearly loved for her cheerful spirit, her caring nature and her unwavering support for those around her. She cherished her family especially her daughters and grandchildren and took great pride in her role as loving wife to Jerry Gomes for over 63 years.
Throughout her life, Kathleen enjoyed spending time with loved ones, sharing laughter and creating memories. Her favorite times were with her family and making everyone around her feel special.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Gomes; her daughters Kristen Nemeth and her husband David and Shannon Novello and her husband Nick; her beloved grandchildren Calvin and Peri MacDonald and Joshua and Jonah Nemeth. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, June 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 17 at 10 a.m. at Incarnation Church in Melrose. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
