
MELROSE — A local teen and a friend from Wakefield were found safe in New York City Monday morning after being reported missing last weekend.
Authorities said Chloe Murphy, a 15-year-old from Melrose, and Brenden Bruckler, a 14-year-old from Wakefield, were located Monday morning at Penn Station, one of the busiest transportation hubs in the world.
The pair had been reported missing. They were last seen Saturday afternoon, when Chloe’s father dropped her off at the Square One Mall in Saugus about 2 p.m., police said.
Investigators believed the friends may have been going to Rhode Island or New York City for New Year’s Eve, police said.
It was a scary few days for Brenden and Chloe’s relatives.

— Wakefield PD is trying to locate 14 year old Brenden Bruckler, who was reported missing Saturday afternoon after not returning home from the Square One Mall in Saugus. Brenden is described as being 5’5, 100 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a Bruins jersey, and light blue Croc sandals. He has ties to Boston, and may be en route to New York.
— Saugus PD is trying to locate 15 year old Chloe Murphy who was reported missing Saturday afternoon after not returning home from the Square One Mall with her friend, Brenden Bruckler. Chloe is described as being a white female, 6’1, 300 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing black leggings, and a gray/white Bruins sweatshirt. She may be en route to New York.
