NORTH ANDOVER — It was a successful tri-meet for the Lynnfield-Danvers High co-op gymnastics team on Sunday afternoon as they defeated both Bishop Fenwick and Peabody at Legends Gymnastics in North Andover.
The Falcons had a score of 144.45. Bishop Fenwick had a 119.95 while Peabody, which has only six members, scored a 64.7.
With the wins, the Falcons improved to 3-1.
Kaylee Wescott led the way again coming in first place in all four events as she had an all-around total score of 38.55. She had a 9.7 in the vault. a 9.6 on the bars, a 9.65 on the beam and a 9.6 on the floor exercise as she came in first against both schools in all four events.
“She has been on fire all year,” stated Falcons head coach Jen Habeeb, about the sophomore. “It was another great performance by her.”
Senior co-captain, Camryn Donovan of Lynnfield, was first against both teams in the vault (9.65) and beam (9.3).
Her sophomore sister, Callie, came in second against both teams on the floor with a 9.1.
Maddie Wescott, the other senior captain and Kaylee’s older sister, made her season debut and captured second against both teams on the bars with a 9.35.
“She missed the first two meets with injures so it was nice to have her back,” said Habeeb, as she also missed most of last year with an ACL injury.
Lynnfield- Danvers had three third-place finishes against both teams: Sophia Catinazzo in the vault (9.4), Delainy Murphy on the bars (8.4), and Callie Donovan on the floor (9.0). Catinazzo is from Lynnfield.
The next meet for the Falcons will also be a tri-meet as they take on Hamilton-Wenham and host Beverly at the Beverly YMCA on Jan. 30. That meet will start at 7:45 p.m.
