LYNNFIELD — The Department Public Works began roadway work on Monday, Sept. 16.
This week’s work includes saw cutting and some preliminary curbing work, tree trimming and some minor drainage structure improvements in various locations throughout the program. Bluejay Road, Heath Circle, Liberty Lane, Pyburn Road, Smith Farm Trail, Orchard Lane and Cortland Lane from Apple Hill Lane to Tophet Road are all included in this phase of the program.
The sidewalk and curbing work will be performed by Allied Paving. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) sidewalk ramp repairs and adjustments as well as curb removal will take place in some locations on these streets.
During the week of Sept. 23, roadway grinding/milling operations will commence. This work will be performed by Newport Construction and D&R construction. Final paving will begin in early to mid-October. This work will be performed by D&R Construction. National Grid subcontractors will perform roadway grinding and paving on Edgemere Road and Oakridge Lane the week of Sept. 23. Ramps on Edgemere and Bishops will be added prior to paving with a crosswalk painted after paving is completed.
Streets may be closed and detours in place whenever work is in progress. Police officers will be on site to assist drivers as needed. Residents will have access to their homes subject to brief delay. Townspeople should be aware that construction equipment and crews can come from any direction. Trash collection will continue in accordance with the scheduled day on each street. Construction crews have been instructed that all busses and school transports for pickup and drop off must be allowed at their scheduled times.
