Sharla Sieve cornhole tournament Saturday

LYNNFIELD — The ‘In Memory of Sharla Cornhole Tournament’ will take place on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 4-10 p.m. at the Elks Lodge.

Lynnfield High School Class of 2020 graduate Bryan Mallett is holding the cornhole tournament in order to raise funds for his upcoming run in the Boston Marathon on April 21. He is running the 2025 Boston Marathon in memory of the late Sharla Sieve and is raising money for Massachusetts General Hospital.

Sharla passed away from a heroic battle with stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer in December 2022 at the age of 49. She left behind five children: Alex, Ben, Maddie, Olivia and Mitch. Olivia launched a fundraiser two-and-a-half years ago that sought to help support a new program at MGH to make hepatic arterial infusions available. Sharla was forced to travel to New York for treatment two times a month for the last year before she passed.
