Boys’ soccer championship parade Thursday

LYNNFIELD — The entire Lynnfield community is invited to celebrate the first ever Lynnfield High School boys’ soccer state championship on Thanksgiving with a Rolling Parade of Champions that will start at Town Hall and end at the Thanksgiving Day Football game at Lynnfield High School. 

After an 18-2-2 regular and playoff season and a Cape Ann League Championship, on Saturday night the Pioneers traveled to Scituate to take on Monomoy Regional from Cape Cod and came home with the program’s first state championship in its 55-plus-year history. 

Team players and families will meet at the Town Hall parking lot for a 9:30 a.m. photo ceremony and brief presentation outside on the front steps of Town Hall. At 9:45 a.m., the Rolling Parade will leave the Town Hall lot and proceed with the following route. 

  • South Common Street to Main Street
  • Main Street to Chestnut Street
  • Chestnut to Lowell Street
  • Lowell Street to Main Street
  • Main Street to Summer Street
  • Summer Street to Archer Lane
  • Archer Lane to Edgemere Road
  • Edgemere Road to WIldwood
  • Wildwood to Pillings Pond
  • Pillings Pond to Essex
  • Essex to LHS entrance.

The parade will end at the Thanksgiving Day Football Game at 10:15 a.m., where the school administration is planning a presentation of the team and the state championship trophy to the community at the game. 

The boys’ soccer team invites everyone to show their support, join them along the parade route and cheer them on as the community comes together to celebrate this remarkable season and historic achievement.
