Update after press time: Lynnfield falls to Ipswich 80-53 (May 14)

LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield High girls’ track and field team lost, 92.5- 51.5, to guest Amesbury on May 7. With that loss, the Pioneers fell to 0-3 while the Red Hawks improved to 2-1.
The Pioneers had three individual winners in the meet. Abby Lopez captured the two mile (12:58), Shea Moore the pole vault (8-1) and Vanessa Champy the long jump.
The 4×400 relay team also won with a time of 4:47.5.
Lynnfield had eight second-place finishes as Emma Greenleaf was second in the pole vault (7-0), and in the 100-hurdles (17.2). Audrey Manning was second in the triple jump (32-10) and long jump.
The other Pioneers second-place finishers were, Elliana Moretti in the shot put (27-6), Emrys Klee in the discus (73-6), Lopez in the javelin (67-7), Gabby Bottaro in the two mile (6.33.4) and Sofia Giardina in the 400 (1:05.8).
Last Saturday, the Pioneers participated in the Henry Sheldon Meet which took place at Triton up in Byfield.
Lynnfield came in eighth place with 33.5 points.
Lopez captured second in the two mile (5:33.81) and was fifth in the javelin (79-04) while Giardina was fourth in the 200-meters (28.13),
Greenleaf also placed fourth in the 100-hurdles (17.21) while Moretti was sixth in the shot-put (26-06).
Klee was fifth in the discus at 79-08 which was a personal-best.
Moore was third in the pole vault at eight feet while Kate Shrewsbury placed fifth in the high jump at 4-6.
Manning had a triple jump of 32-4 to place fourth.
On Wednesday, the Pioneers welcome Ipswich at 4 p.m. in their final dual meet of the regular season.
