LYNNFIELD — A group of Lynnfield High School seniors who volunteer with Connor’s Kindness Project (CKP) recently organized a large-scale, student-led event that united nearly 280 Lynnfield High athletes in a shared act of kindness.
All eight of the high school’s spring sports teams gathered to assemble Kindness Kits for children facing medical or housing hardships. These kits are filled with comforting and engaging items, and are distributed through CKP’s partnerships with over 80 hospitals and shelters across New England.
“Thanks to the leadership of CKP senior interns Taylor Collins, Erika Pasquale, Nicole Sorrentino, Kacie Lilley, Arianna Atsales, Chloe Gromko and Lily White, the event was not only a community service opportunity but also a testament to the lasting impact of volunteerism,” said CKP Executive Director/Co-Founder Sharon Marrama. “Watching these young women step into leadership roles and create something so meaningful in their final year is incredibly moving. They are the perfect example of how youth volunteers can grow into changemakers — not just for our organization, but for the community at large.”
With the support of CKP, Lynnfield High Athletic Director Mia Muzio, Principal Patricia Puglisi, and sponsors including Chick-fil-A Woburn and Chicken & The Pig, this new initiative is set to become a seasonal tradition, connecting athletics, service, and community.
“We are so proud of all of our volunteers and the impact they continue to make well beyond CKP,” said Marrama. “These seniors have set the bar high and shown just how powerful kindness in action can be.”
