BOSTON — On President’s Day, the Lynnfield High boys’ indoor track and field team participated in the MIAA Div. 5 Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center. The meet was postponed a day due to the bad weather on Sunday.
With over 40 schools participating, the Pioneers did very well finishing in 12th place with a total score of 14.6 points. Weston was first with 75.
li Mendese led the way for the Pioneers. The senior was second in the high jump (6-2), and sixth in the long jump (20-2).
He also placed 28th in the shot-put with a toss of 38-3.
Mike Murphy, another senior, was seventh in the high jump at 5-10.
The 4×200 relay team of Jessie Dorman, Charlie Morgan, Brendan Reilly and his brother Dillon, captured sixth with a time of 1:35.48.
Other participates that didn’t score include Dorman in the 55-meter dash (7.08 for 34th place), Brendan Reilly in the 300-meters (38.11 for 32nd place) and senior Shea McCarthy in the two mile (10:51.33).
In the regular season, the Pioneers came in second place to Amesbury in the CAL Baker Division as they finished 3-1.
