National Night Out returns Aug. 5

LYNNFIELD — A Healthy Lynnfield and the Lynnfield Police Department are once again partnering to celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 5, beginning at 6:30 p.m.   

This community-building campaign promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work.

 A Healthy Lynnfield and the Lynnfield Police Department are hosting the third annual National Night Out at Lynnfield Middle School once again on Aug. 5. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. with a softball game featuring the Lynnfield Police Department vs. Lynnfield Youth Softball coaches.

 Attendees will enjoy a free cookout sponsored by Bianco Sausages and Kayem, and ice cream sponsored by Hixon + Bevilacqua Home Group.  There will be a K9 display courtesy of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department as well as music courtesy of New England’s Best DJs.  Kids will able be able to enjoy face painting, races and other activities.

 “National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement,” said A Healthy Lynnfield Program Director Diana DeLeo.  “When the community and law enforcement work closely together, it benefits everyone in our town.”

Lynnfield Police Capt. Chris DeCarlo agreed. 

 “We are excited to partner with A Healthy Lynnfield again for Lynnfield’s third annual National Night Out,” said DeCarlo.  “Between the softball game, cookout and other activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy and we hope to see many Lynnfield residents there.”

A Healthy Lynnfield is an active community partnership working hard to prevent substance misuse and to ensure those impacted have the help they need.
