Post-publication: Lynnfield defeats Lynn Classical 3-0 (Sept. 12)

LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield High volleyball team is off to a strong start in 2025.
The Pioneers improved to 3-0 on Monday with a 3-1 win over Pentucket at LHS.
Lynnfield started the season on Sept. 2 with a 3-0 victory over Ipswich at home and followed that up with a 3-0 road win over Essex Tech on Sept. 4.
The Pioneers wasted no time in finding a rhythm this season, crushing a typically strong Ipswich team in set victories of 25-6, 25-7 and 25-11.
The attack was led by junior captain Audrey Manning who collected a match-high 18 kills. She also added 8 assists.
Lynnfield dominated from the service line, picking up 23 aces led by sophomore Carina DeLeo (6), senior captain Alexia Vaquerano (5), junior Elliana Moretti (5) and senior captain Olivia Kelter (4).
Kelter and Moretti led the defense with 6 digs each.
DeLeo had 17 assists. Vaquerano added 10 kills.
The Pioneers were just as sharp in their 3-0 win over the Hawks.
Vaquerano led the way with 11 kills while Manning had 10. Moretti had 6 aces and 19 digs.
Manning had 10 assists and DeLeo had 14.
Lynnfield will look to make it four in a row to start the season when they host Lynn Classical on Friday at 6 p.m. They travel to Reading on Monday at 5:45 p.m.
