LYNNFIELD — MaryJane Orlandello, 84, of Lynnfield and formerly of East Boston, died peacefully on Jan. 31, 2023 surrounded by her loving family after having fought a courageous four-and-a-half year battle with ovarian cancer with the utmost grace and dignity.
She was born in Boston on July 5, 1938, and was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Edith (Colombo) Arena. She was raised in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School. She met her future husband at the former Nautical Bowling Alley in Revere, and four years later they were married. She and her husband operated the Cantina Italiano Restaurant on Hanover Street in Boston’s North End, and they later went on to establish the Commercial Wharf Realty Trust. MaryJane enjoyed many summers on Cape Cod with her family. She was generous with her family and friends. She loved entertaining, cooking and traveling around the world.
She was the beloved wife of Anthony L. Orlandello. She was the loving mother of Jane M. Orlandello and her partner, Kathy Holden, of Lynnfield; Lois E. Murphy of Lynnfield; and Toni Anne Harrison and her husband, David, of Boston. She was the sister of Frances Ristaino. She was also the devoted grandmother of Nicole Dorothy; Jane Hunter and her husband, Christopher; Julieann Marie Murphy; and Anthony John Murphy.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated in the Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lynnfield on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023. Interment was held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield. Arrangements were in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
