Last day of school is June 13
Summer vacation is almost here for Melrose Public Schools students: the last day of school is Friday, June 13 (12 p.m. dismissal). Have a safe and fun summer!
City Hall Juneteenth Flag Raising on June 18 at 5:30 p.m.
Please join the Mayor’s Office for a Juneteenth Flag Raising at City Hall on Wednesday, June 18 at 5:30 p.m. Juneteenth Freedom Day has been celebrated since 1866 and marks the day news of the Emancipation Proclamation reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas. The Juneteenth flag will be raised at the flagpoles at the Essex Street entrance of Melrose City Hall.
All City and School facilities, including the Library, DPW City Yard, and all non-emergency departments, will be closed on Thursday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth federal holiday. Curbside trash and recycling collection typically scheduled for Thursday and Friday will be delayed by one day.
