MELROSE — The City of Melrose is sharing the following updates for the upcoming week:
Memorial Day observances and volunteer opportunities
The City of Melrose Veterans Services Office and the Veterans’ Advisory Board invite residents to attend Memorial Day observances this weekend. On Saturday, May 24, volunteers are invited to place American flags at the graves of veterans at Wyoming Cemetery from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. A solemn flag retirement ceremony will follow the flag placing.
On Sunday, May 25, all are welcome to attend a Memorial Day ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Reflection Area at the Knoll opposite Melrose High School at 11 a.m. For more information about planned Memorial Day observances, call (781) 979-4188 or email vso@cityofmelrose.org.
City closed on Memorial Day
All Melrose Public Schools and City Offices, except police and fire stations, will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day. Trash and recycling will not be collected on May 26, and there will be a one-day delay in collection for the remainder of the week.
Melrose High School graduation is May 30
The Melrose High School Class of 2025 graduates on Friday, May 30 at 6 p.m. on Fred Green Field! If you know a graduating senior, make sure to wish them a great Senior Week and the best of luck for the future.
