Melrose Farmers’ Market plans festive finale

THE SELECTIONS remain bountiful as the Farmers’ Market season comes to a close.

MELROSE — The regular season of the Melrose Farmers’ Market comes to a close on Thursday, October 30, and the community is invited to celebrate!

Each week, the market has brought together 25 farms, food vendors, and artisans — offering everything from fresh produce to baked goods, beverages, prepared foods, and handmade creations. This final market will be no exception, and will feature the bounty of fall: squash, apples, greens, root vegetables and more.

Visitors are encouraged to come in costume — including the market’s many beloved canine guests! Festivities will include live music, free face painting and hair braiding, and a cooking demonstration with tastings.

SNAP customers can have their benefits matched up to $10, and use their HIP benefits with three participating farms.

The Melrose Farmers’ Market runs from 1 to 6 p.m. at Bowden Park (across from the Cedar Park train station).

And the season isn’t over yet: two special holiday markets will follow — on Sunday, November 16 at Bowden Park and Sunday, December 14 at the Melrose YMCA.
