MELROSE — The Melrose Historical Commission is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2025 Mary Stetson Clarke Award a name that is very familiar to Melrose residents, Brad Hutchinson. Brad served for many years on the Melrose Historical District Commission including as its chairman, helping to keep Melrose’s Victorian heritage and architecture on display.
As a Melrose artifact collector, Brad has been a staunch advocate of creating a Melrose Museum to ensure that the history of Melrose is celebrated for decades to come. With his business, Brad Hutchinson Real Estate, they create and distribute annual calendars that focus on Melrose’s history through photographs. Recently, Brad served on the Mayor’s select committee to plan the city’s 175th birthday celebration this last May. Additionally, he has promoted Melrose’s history through other local organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club and Wyoming Lodge of Freemasons.
The Historical Commission believes Brad represents the intention of the award to recognize someone that, “ has demonstrated a commitment to the celebration and preservation of the history of Melrose.” Brad, like Mary Stetson Clarke, has a long history of service and commitment to our community and we congratulate him on his selection.
