
MELROSE — The very popular “Senior’s Day at the Park” event will be held at the clubhouse at Mount Hood Memorial Park & Golf Course on Tuesday, May 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come join us at Mount Hood and enjoy the day inside the beautiful and rustic setting of the clubhouse. There is no charge for this event. This event will occur rain or shine and seating is limited, so please call soon to reserve a seat.
This year’s presentations include lectures by author and local Medford historian Dee Morris on local Melrose resident Mary Sargent Hopkins, a 19th century American’s woman’s health advocate and bicycle enthusiast, as well as a lecture by author Douglas L. Heath on the 1900 murder at Breakheart Hill Farm in Saugus.
Lunch and refreshments will be served and later attendees will travel up to the four-story, stone Slayton Tower, the highest point in the park to experience the panoramic view of the area including the mountains of NH, Revere Beach and the Boston skyline.
