MELROSE — At their meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 28, the Melrose School Committee will hold a public hearing on School Choice in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 76, Section 12B (d) for the 2025/2026 school year.
The School Choice program as set forth in M.G.L. c. 76, §12B allows for students to attend a public school in a city or town where the student does not reside. The Melrose Public Schools did not participate in the School Choice program for the 2024-2025 school year, however an annual public hearing and vote is required by the Statute.
The hearing will begin at 7 p.m. All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard for or against school choice.
