Avid cook who enjoyed time at Lake Sunapee
MELROSE — Marjorie Anne (Grenier) Keohane of Melrose, died peacefully on October 19 at the age of 82. She was born in Boston on December 7, 1941, to the late Alice (Duggan) and Arthur Grenier. Marge was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School in 1959.
Marge moved to Melrose to raise her family of six children. Her family always came first, she was a dedicated mother and “Mimi”. Marge was a fixture at St. Mary’s Church in Melrose for over 40 years, she volunteered in every way imaginable and managed the rectory office for over 20 years. She was also an avid cook, loved spending family time at Lake Sunapee and taking trips to the Encore casino. She’ll be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Marjorie was the former wife of the late Michael F. Keohane, Jr. Beloved mother of Michael F. Keohane III of Nashua; Kathy Keohane of Gloucester; Kim Cusato and her husband Bill of Saugus; Julie Mercer and her husband John of Melrose; Kristen Keohane of Malden; and Linda Brown and her husband Kevin of Melrose. Loving grandmother of Sean Silverman, Robert Zucchari, Michele Silverman, Eric Mercer, Zack Mercer, Jill Mercer, Tyler Brown, Alex Brown, Brooke Brown, Nick McNeely, Benjamin McNeely, Michael Keohane, Derek Keohane and Rachel Keohane. Proud great-grandmother of George Silverman. Caring sister of the late Arthur Grenier and his wife Emma; Corinne Cardarelli and her husband John; and William Grenier and his wife Phyllis. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Visiting hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, October 23 from 4 to 7 p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary’s Church, 4 Herbert St., Melrose on Thursday October 24 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Interment was private.
