MELROSE — Claire M. (Hannaford) Russo, 71, of Melrose, died at her home surrounded by her family on March 25, 2018.
Claire was born in Malden, raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1965. She resided in Melrose for many years and worked as a Medical Secretary for the Melrose Wakefield Hospital Medical 5th floor for over 20 years before her retirement. She loved her two dogs and was a very independent woman who took care of everyone. Claire’s family and grand children were the most important part of her life.
She was the beloved wife of Lawrence A. Russo, Jr. of Melrose for over 50 years. Loving mother of Lawrence A. Russo, III and his wife Heidi Ann of Stoneham and Lisa Capuano and her husband Andrew of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Jenna, Andrew, Jacqui, Ava and Anthony. Caring sister of Rita Hannaford of Cape Cod, Neal Hannaford and his wife Susan of Beverly and the late Lorraine and Robert Hannaford. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Gately Funeral Home, Melrose.
