Claudia Rossetti

Known for her wit, sense of humor and accent and love of Boston Red Sox

RICHMOND, VA — Claudia June Graham Rossetti, a beloved mother and sister passed away peacefully on December 29 after a long illness. She was born in Stoneham, the daughter of Claude and June Graham and was raised in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School. She had been a long-time resident of Richmond since moving to VA in 1985.

From an early age, Claudia displayed a remarkable talent and passion for swimming, competing for the New England Swim Club and setting marks at local and regional swim meets and also qualifying for the Junior Junior Olympic swimming Championship in NY. Her athletic achievements extended beyond the pool. At Melrose High School, she made history as the first girl to regularly compete on the boys track team. In addition, she was the Massachusetts High School Girls Cross Country Champion in 1972 and proudly represented her state in the National meet in Ohio. After high school, she competed for the Falmouth Track Club.

Her work ethic and determination extended into her professional life where she spent many years as a medical biller for Medical Management of Richmond. Claudia was known for her wit, New England sense of humor and accent and her love of the Boston Red Sox.

Her memory will live on through her family: Candace and Brian Bosch of Woodbridge, VA; Michelle and Alex Najjar of Billerica; and Nicole Rossetti and Jose Garcia of Lynchburg, VA; and also her three grandchildren: Collette, Faye and Bo of Billerica. Also survived by siblings Marleen of Melrose; Scott of Los Gatos, CA; Kenneth of Stoneham; and Kathryn of Melrose.
