MELROSE — Louise (Hardiman) Larsen, 94, was born in Medford, educated and raised in Malden, and passed away on June 8, 2020.
Louise worked for many years at General Electric in Lynn and, through the years, was a resident of Watertown, Wareham, Melrose and Barefoot Bay, Florida. Louise was a gentle, soft spoken woman who was often described as “sweet” by those who interacted with her and cared for her. Through the years, Louise demonstrated her love and devotion to her dogs and those of others, enjoyed arts and crafts and sharing a cup of tea and/or lemon donut with her friends. In the last few years, Louise enjoyed her visits with Abe, a wonderful dog she met through a local pet therapy program.
Louise was the beloved wife of the late Robert Larsen, and together they spent their days travelling around Florida, visiting with friends and sharing many laughs. Louise was the sister of Pauline (and James) Howard and was predeceased by her siblings: Katherine Barstow (and John), Mary Fitzmaurice (and Samuel), Sr. Martine, SSND (Helen Hardiman), Edward Hardiman, Virginia Hardiman, Ann Wilson (and Robert) and Martin Hardiman. Sister-in-law of Marion and Elaine Hardiman. Louise is also survived and predeceased by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local pet therapy program or MSPCA at 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. Arrangements by the Gately Funeral Home, Melrose.
