MELROSE — Mary A. (McCabe) Fitzgerald, 70, passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Monday, March 5, 2018.
Mary was born in Melrose on July 3, 1947 to the late William and Helen McCabe. She was raised in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School. Mary moved to Melrose in 1971 and was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her children. Mrs. Fitzgerald was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and a good TV show. She liked taking trips to Kennebunkport, Maine and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Mary was the former wife of the late John J. Fitzgerald. Loving mother of Michele Bormann and her husband Cheyne of Peabody, and Melissa Fitzgerald. Proud grandmother of Cassandra, Michaela, Christopher, Olivia and Stella. Great-grandmother of Jonah.
Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday, March 9, from 9 -11 a.m., followed by a service at 11a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private.
