MELROSE — Patricia A. Ryan, 76, passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on January 20, 2019.
Pat was born in Melrose on October 9, 1942 to the late Patrick and Florence (Guest) Ryan. She was raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Mary’s Grammar School, Melrose High School and from Baystate Community College. Miss Ryan worked as a nurse’s aid at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for many years. Pat was a dedicated caregiver, worked as a nanny for many years and was always taking care of children.
Pat was a lifelong resident of Melrose, loved gardening and grew the biggest and best tomatoes plants all through her life. Pat enjoyed living at the Cefalo House in Melrose, loved her little patch of garden for her plants and enjoyed playing poker with her Cefalo friends on Saturday nights.
She was the loving sister of William Ryan and his wife Breda of Melrose and the late Paul Ryan, John Ryan and Larry Ryan. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends.
Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday, January 24 at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St. Melrose, at 10 a.m. Burial at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
